              Sunshine & Shadow Quilt Class Policy:

 

                                  New Class and Club Policies

Class tuition and club fees must be paid at time of registration. If you drop more than a week prior to the class/club, you will receive a credit toward a future class/club. If you drop less than a week prior to the class/club, you forfeit your class tuition/club fee. Be sure to check your calendar prior to registering for a class or club.

Classes require a working sewing machine!!! Make sure your sewing machine is in good working condition and that you know how to use it.

Along with your machine, please bring basic sewing supplies - mat, ruler, rotary cutter, scissors, etc.

Ankas Treasures Club I
Meets Twice a Month For 3 Months:
Time: Tues Sep 7th & 21st at 6:30pm
Tues Oct 5th & 19th at 6:30pm
Tues Nov 2nd & 16th at 6:30pm
Ankas Treasures Club II
Thurs Sep 9th & 23rd at 6:30pm
Thurs Oct 7th & 21st at 6:30pm
Thurs Nov 4th & 18th at 6:30pm

Instructor: Jodie Anderle
This club is based on the book Ankas Treasures.
Jodie's Ankas Xmas Table Topper class in 2009, was such
a hit that she decided to continue making the other
wonderful seasonal projects from this book.
Quilters meet twice a month, for three months,
beginning in September, through November.
Fee: $45 one-time fee, plus book Ankas Treasures

One Day In The Country Block-of-Month
Fee: $37.50 Commitment Fee, Jan - June, to cover pattern costs
Time: 6:30pm, Thurs, Jan 21st & every 3rd Thurs of month thereafter.

This is an Indygo Junction block-of-month. This is a
primitive folk art quilt, using hand applique techniques.
Each months block is based on the season for that month.
The blocks are 17 inches square, finishing at approx. 51 x 68

Remembering Adelia Club
Fee: $65
Meets the fourth Wednesday of each month, for 3 months
Wednesday, Sep 22nd, Oct 27th, Nov 24th, at 11:30am
Instructors: Jodie & Sandie
This club is based on author Kathleen Tracy's newest book
Remembering Adelia. In 1860 Adelia Thomas lived in
Algonquin Tws., McHenry County. She married Chester E. Bennett on
2 January 1865. Along with Adelia's diary entries & pictures,
are wonderful vintage miniature quilts to reproduce. Each month
we will be making one of the quilts featured in the book.
If you are a quilter who is also passionate about our local history,
join us once a month, beginning Wednesday, Sep 22nd, at 11:30am

Girls Night In
Time: Fri, Sep 10th at 6:30pm til ?
And every 2nd Fri of month thereafter.

Our chance to sit, chat & work on our
unfinished projects without interruption !
Chocolate not required but will be provided !

Pioneer Sampler Block-of-Month
Fee: $30 commitment fee, plus kit cost each month &
Book: Quilt in a Day "Pioneer Sampler"
Begins Friday, Oct 23rd, 2009 at 6:30pm
Every 4th Friday of the month thereafter.
Instructor: Jodie Anderle

Twelve traditional quilt blocks, reminders of the history
of our American heritage. Lap size quilt, easy enough
for beginner's who have completed our Quilting 101 course.
Continue to build your cutting & piecing skills!
Sample of the quilt is on display at the shop.

Free-Motion Quilting
Fee: $15
Time:  Sat, Sep 18th at 11:30am
Instructor: Jodie Anderle
Jodie will show you just how easy it is to free-motion quilt, so if
you would prefer to finish your own quilt tops,
table runners etc, this is the class for you !

Quilting 101  Fee: $75
This Class is a 6-Session Course
Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Tuesday, Sep 14th, & 28th, Oct 12th, & 26th, & Nov 9th & 23rd
OR
Sat, Sep 11th, 25th, Oct 9th & 23rd & Nov 13th & 27th
Time: Noon to 2:30pm
Instructor: Jodie Anderle

For those of you who have basic sewing skills, and have always wanted to make a quilt, but have been intimidated to do so without someone to
teach & guide you as you begin, that time has arrived ! This will be a 6 session course for the beginning quilter. You will learn all the basic skills by the time
you have completed the 6 sessions. Session #1 will be an introduction to quilting, with focus on choosing fabrics, proper tools, etc. Then you will begin to make a different sampler block in the remaining 5 sessions. When all blocks are completed you will have what is known as a sampler quilt.
Your sampler quilt can then be used as a wall-hanging or table topper.

Finishing Class Fee: $10
3rd Friday of the month at 6:30pm

On the 3rd Friday of each month, Jodie
will be at the shop to assist you with your
unfinished projects. So, check your calendar,
and set aside the 3rd Friday evening of the month.
